I just finished up my 496 build and wondered what type of numbers you guys thought it might put up. The build consists of the following:
1. Pro Gram splayed capped GM block
2. Eagle LW 4.25 stroke crank
3. Eagle 6.385 H-beam rods
4. SRP pistons with 43cc dome
5. Dart fully ported 325 Pro 1s. Combustion chamber is 109.2cc measured. Manly severe duty 2.25 and 1.88 valves
6. Comp Cams 11-749-14. Duration @50- 276/284. Lobe center 110. Lift- .792/.756
7. Comp Cams Hi-Tech Stainless Roller Rocker Arms with a 1.8 ratio.
8. Compression is 14.3 to 1
9. Intake is a Victor-R with a 2 inch adapter with a fully modified 850 Holley that flows over 1020cfm
10. B and B oil pan with crank scraper and windage tray

Dropping it off tomorrow and hopefully dynoing within the next week. Once I have the numbers, I will post them up.:)

842 hp at 6900
691 tq at 5400

assuming the heads flow at least 390 or so....

The motor is going to be a bracket motor which is why the cam was chosen. The acceleration ramps are not too severe and should provide reliable life on the springs and valves.

Well, after some issues with the block, the engine got put back together and finally dynoed. The best dynoe results were under the following conditions:
78.1 temp
47.93% humidity
29.22 barometer
2337 density altitude

The peak results were 816.7 hp @7100 and and 673.5 torque @5400. The engine made at least 615 ft. pounds of torque from 4900-6900. The engine really liked the bsfc to be a little fat at higher rpm (.460 @ 7100 which was surprising) and the 850 ended up flowing 1052 cfm @7100.

All in all, it turned out to be a pretty good experience and it should run fairly well. Now, the converter can be ordered. I will update as the car gets finished up and makes it to the track.
