Question How to Install Hood to Cowl Seal?

I just bought the sponge variety, and clips as well. There are no pre-cut holes for the clips, so I imagine I have to make my own.

Do you use any kind of adhesive to hold it to the cowl?

Dan.. Start with the middle hole and work your way out from both sides. Fine the middle of the w/s, and punch a small hole with awl/ice pick, then stick the clip thru the hole and into the center hole on the cowl. Then do the same as you work your way out. You can put a small mark with chalk to mark where the next hole should be punched. it's a hassle, because you have to lean over the car so much, but you'll get it right.

No adhesive... Also the plastic clips you get with the w/s are wrong. The metal are availabe if you want them, but pricey.

You are running out of time. I remember punching holes for the clips in the spongy cowl seal rubber and used 3M Super 08008 Black adhesive on the cowl. The rubber seal clipped to the hood only had the clips, no glue.

Thanks Bill. I ordered the plastic on purpose, as I got the metal ones before, and didn't like them all that much. No one's going to see 'em anyway.....

Yeah, but he'll put that down in his little notebook--"NOTE-Dan Orgill's cowl seal clips are incorrect."
He has full pages written about my car.

That's why it's taking me so long! I have the metal clips.

I knew there was something I was forgetting. Note to self: Put "little notebook" in trailer for CB09 trip.
