Default Most Expensive years

Which years of chevelle are worth the most?

I find that 67's are always priced very high. Also 70's and I know why for that (454 baby).

So tell me, in your experiences what are the most sought after years of chevelles? which ones are the most expensive?

Include all, not just SS cars, but non SS cars as well

Personal prefference for me but I only like the 69. Wouldn't pay for anything else.

I would agree '70 is the heavy hitter, 66-67 and '69's I believe are the next in line, but I'm not up on the prices currently. 1968's just don't get the respect they deserve IMO.

If you take the 70 SS 454 out of the equation, 67's are the most expensive. I don't understand why 68's don't get more respect, they are beautiful cars

I respectfully disagree... If we are talking all Chevelles (not just SS cars ), or even just SS 396 models alone, the '1970's always seem to be at the top... I have seen many 71/72 cars "converted" to 70 because they are more desirable to more people... I can't think of the last time I saw a 67 front clip on a 66, even though it seems harder to find a 67 than a 70...

I think alot has to do with the legend of the LS6, and being the last year before HP started dropping... The pinnicle...

Maybe for an "undocumented" SS 396, the 67 might have an edge for the collector, because the "138" code...

Thats just the way i see it in my area...

Just comparing model year to model year without considering anything else, 70 is definitely the most sought after.
I'm thinking 66 would come in second but just guessing on that.

I believe it all depends on who wants what and how much cash they have. 70, 67,66,69, respectivly seems to be trend. IMO!! I always wanted a 69 when I was A teen. Once I bought a 67 convertible I see the 69 differently. Its all in what YOU like and fit in your means( some people need there wife to like the car as well) LOL.

It seems that when my wife or I want to buy something the price always goes up.

Being that I deal in 66 and 67 SS exclusively.. I can't comment on prices of other years.. but I can say... 66 SS's out price 67's more often than not in my personal experience.

That may be because I see more 66 SS's Restored to a higher degree of correctness and therefore they demand more money than 67 SS's again, just my personal experience.

This is exactly what I thought!

70 will bring the most cash, because of the 454 option and the last year of big performance.
69 follows close in popularity, and 67 and 66 right behind

I like to believe (68) that the fewer there are (68) the more they are worth. Now I didn't (68) consider anything regarding the desirable (68) factor.

Without a doubt the 1970 is the most sought after body style for numerous reason. It has the right looks and the best overall year for power (L34, L78, LS5, and LS6). Just that damn ugly bumper on the rear!!!!

The 1967 is probably the next most popular year. While boxey, it still has great lines and a powerful 396. These are great looking cars.

Personally, ducking for cover, I dislike the 68-69 Chevelle body style. It just doesn't look finished to me and does not project a "tough" look. Although they too have the powerful L34s and L78s. The just look like a crossover from the older to the newer bodystyle.

As for the 71-72 Chevelles, I love the body and the rear bumpers, but I am not a fan of the single headlights when compared to the 1970. They were also the start of the decline in power as well. The final death throws of the musclecar era!!!

I am partial to the 72's but like the 68's they too do not get the respect they deserve.
