I have a 12 bolt rearend that im rebuilding and converting to a possi. I have sand blasted it removed all the bearings and gears. The codes on the rearend are CKD 0826B, GM52, 3969278NF, H48, CON1, E stamp under cover, 1234567890. I have surched the Internet and the 3969278NF is supposed to be a 71-72 but date code dosent match. Please help make sense of this because im confused.
Thanks John |

Appears to be from a '70 per the info I've got.
The 3969278NF was used '70-'72. Your code CKD was '70. Possible that the 8 in the H48 is a 0 ?? |

That casting nimber was used from 70-72 but chevellestuff.com shows that your rear is a 1970, because that is the only year that shows a CKD code. Meaning it was a 2:73 ratio.
08 means the 8th month, 26 is the date and B means it was built at the buffalo plant
