Default 66' & 67' frames...difference?

Is there a difference between 66' and 67' frames for a hardtop coupe?

I'm thinking about buying a roller frame and working on it (balst it, POR 15, ect.), then putting my body on the new frame? That way I could still drive my car all this summer while I'm working on the other frame.

Is there a difference? Opinions welcomed.

Thanks
Tod

Just body diff and add ons i had both were talking chevelle,s correct??
And do some extra welding while is off. Throw in some extra supports on horseshoes unless your looking to stay stock but dont put on slicks or race it. Convertibles have reinforced boxed perimiter frame rails as extra .

Rear spring perches are different, but everything else is the same.

66 had single-pigtail springs (pigtail at axle, full 6" coil at frame)
67 had dual pigtail springs (pigtail at both axle and frame)

Hey todd, I'm getting ready to do the same thing. I have a 67 and came up with a 66 frame. I plan on putting all aftermarket suspension front and rear, a fresh 12 bolt, and disc brakes on the 66 frame then changin it all over. Once my car is doe and I get bored I'll probably repair and clean up the 67 frame, paint it, but all new bushings, springs, and shocks, with the 10 bolt and drums bakes and try to sell it. Spring perches are the only difference as far as I know also. You have to use springs for whatever frame you use.

Thanks everyone! I guess I'll post an ad looking for a 66' - 67' roller Chevelle frame in the want ad section.

No differences. The frames are identical.

Herb, no they are not identical. Different spring pockets.

The '66 will work, just need '66 rear springs.
