Default Professional products

Is anyone planning on switching to PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS' new stage III Powerjection fuel injection. It looks like a carb with all the electronics stuffed into what looks like two float bowls. All you have to do is hook up your fuel line, a 12v power source, throttle linkage, and an 02 sensor.

If you haven't seen this yet you should really check it out. Its pretty cool. The software self-tunes itself as you drive the car.

This product comes out in like 60-90 days a sales rep told me.

They also have a new badass distributor. It has a knob and a gauge on the side that allows you to adjust your timing.

I think their reputation for sub-par products would keep many away.

ummm Why did it seem like the guy doing the interveiw new more about carbs and EFI than that guy?

And it seemed the guy promoting it had about 3 words in his vocabulary.....you know a carb has things like jets......

So, now PP isn't cheap China junk copied off designs of Edelbrock or whoever that spent the money to do the R&D here in the US? Since when? Guys who spend money on that stuff are nailing the coffin lids on the American manufacturers who spent 50 years developing the designs and the manufacturing techniques to produce the parts we need. Wonder who is going to do the R&D after the American companies go banko because their customers started buying the imitation cheap China junk?

American hot rodders will get exactly what we deserve out of this deal.

I thought that Barry Grant came out with a TBI that looked like a carb. Is this a knock-off of that?

you lost me on that one...are you saying this is made in China, or it is copying some other design?

PP probably doesn't "make" it; they're just re-selling this one.

According to some people I wont mention, its a decent kit, but the ECM and the wiring harness suck. If they were to improve that, it would be great.

I would look into the new F.A.S.T EZ EFI kits. I will be the 3rd person to have a Pre Production kit....hopefully in 2 weeks...I will keep ya posted

i think they came out with that way back before the "Claw" carbs were reworked and marketed as "Demons".
i never heard how well they worked, but the electronics of today are light years ahead of what they were 10 years ago.

Dont worry Tom, Obama and AlGore will have all manufacturing out of the US before you know it. Then you'll have to buy Oriental Performance Products I actually read/heard that pro products was using EdelBrocks old sand molds and they are actually a better casting.

Don't think so Bob. From what I know, PP stuff is permenant mold, totally different tooling.

If you've looked at some of their castings (at least stuff I had in my hands a few years ago), I wouldn't call them "better". . They may make power (because they copied good intakes to start with), but the quality is corresponds to the price.

You guys are right about the impact to the US performance companies. Soon there might not be much whining to do if things don't improve overall. Then you'll go back 80 years and have to make stuff yourself and not have the current glory days of bolting stuff together and making big power.
