Titale says it all I guess. Just wondering why the surge at idle.

It's basically the motor going lean / rich / lean / etc. It can be tuned out most of the time.

If you are talking about a big olfd fashioned roots blower, there are a few factors like camshaft design, but one specific to the blower is that as the rotors turn, they take big gulps off air which is not so smooth and the charge pulses. The more rotors you have and the more helical they are, the less they pulse and the smoother the idle. This is why the latest blowers have 4 lobes and 160 degree cut rotors.

That's right.It can be tuned out,if you want to.

We run a huge sollid roller;.801 lift,300 degrees duration@ .050, on a 115LSA,in the race car.It does not lope at all.
