Hillarious! cjjunkie over there has proven he's just not a car guy and apparently lacks understanding about the world outside his precious vette. I like the vette guys that are car guys, that understand theres always someone faster, better, etc....but I seem to run into more and more Vette "enthusiasts" (usually receeding hairline or bald, golf is there "other life" and their attitudes are about on par with Boyd Coddington) that just flat out think their sh*t dont stink.....vette this, vette that, nobody can touch a vette (wonder how they reacted to the nightstalker truck, on stock tires, stock suspension, stock height Silverado that chewed up and spit out a lingenfelter over and over again)

Those arent car guys, they arent even performance guys....their "vette" guys....and I know there are some, perhaps many in that camp that hate those attitudes just as much as we do.

Here is a "Vette" guy, me!
Let me tell you what, as a general rule, I DO NOT hang with the Vette crowd for this specific reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 56 Corvette because I love these old cars-----------------------NOT because i have a need to fit into a particular image group! I am over on the Corvetteforum almost everyday, and I can't stand the guy with this kind of attitude/viewpoint.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, please don't label Tom in this catagory.
I've said many times before, NOT ALL, BUT TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY Vette people are, well, they're just not of my choosing. TRUE, there are these types in all hobbies (not just the car hobby), but from my personal experience over many, many years, the Vette crowd is about the worst I've ever seen. Do you suppose this guy says the same thing to/about 32 Ford street rods, 40 Ford convertibles, 55-57 Chevys, 57 Vettes, HEMI Cudas or 427 Cobras?????????? I bet he does!

-I LOOOVE that pic, saw it over there the other day. Plain, bare bones, old school flavor. DZ, Ask Wes how I feel about that stuff....Same.

-I like driving the cars, and there are a lot of super cool "car guys/gearheads" over there that "get it" . I just dont fit the mold...Like the cars, not crazy about the crowd....Most wont go to a cruise in because it was windy and leaves were blowing around....Oh, and rain....

-Go to a GTG and out comes the Zaino and car ramps...In the PARKING LOT!! LMAO. Me, I llke to mod em and drive em. Went to a local cruise in last month and got out...Had on a pair of shorts that had some grease stains on em and a Muscle Factory T shirt on

-Im a loser because mine has a bunch of miles...I believe what I was called was a " haybale and pitchfork crowd type". Another said "bottomdweller" ...Oops, I forgot youre supposed to store them in a bubble lol

-Im going to write a book, "How too trade in your skateboard for a 5k car and become an elitist"

Its attitudes/viewpoints like this that has been a major contributor to the way most people regard the Corvette community in general. Notice I said in general, NOT ALL Vette owners are regarded as arrogant, snobby, premadonna jerks. As a Corvette owner myself, I feel at ease making that kind of statement because over the years, that is how I've observed as well as been treated by waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many Corvette owners. Oh ya, when I'm around Corvette groups, if I'm in my Chevelle convertible or 51 Chevy, the attitude is MUCH WORSE than it is when I'm in my Corvette. Then the attitude is totally different! And that kind of treatment gets more extreme by the owners of later model Corvettes. I've said this many times, and routinely, Corvette owners refuse to take a close look at themselves as the source of how they are generally looked upon. I don't know how to get this across to the overall Corvette community. IT IS VERY TRUE, that there are these kinds of people with the holier than thou opinion of themselves and their cars in every group----------------------but the Corvette owners are among the worst. Why is that???????? What makes you people feel that you need to project this kind of an image?

This topic will go nowhere but downhill. There is no reason to start a pissing match with another forum. You want to argue with them keep it on their board and leave TC out of it. This is not what this site is about and we will not stoop to that level. Thanks Tom for posting what you did over and thank you for not mentioning TC.
