Default Help decoding a holley carburator 6r 3752 b

Just got this carb yesterdayat a very good deal along with some aluminum heads, was told by owner it was a 700 cfm carb double pumper, the lonly numbers i can find are 10562 on bowl spacers 10561 on the other, than on main body it says 6R (3752) B, i was told the list number should be on the chokes horn, but apperently there is not list number... also i noticed it has the brass looking body with aluminum bowls, and has no choke linkage or butterfly, i read a post that supposedly these are the rare holley carbs and are hard to find..i need to get a rebuild kit but i dont even know what size it is or what part number..

I've searched the net to no avail.

Known specs:

Holley carb circa 1986
Mechanical secondaries
No choke
Various numbers/letters around venturis include:
6R 3752 B (In that order)
6 CJ
CJ B1

On metering blocks:
Primaries - 6687 7902
Secondaries - 6684 6501

Primary butterflys are marked 172
Secondary butterflys are marked 173

Thanks! Let me know if pics would help.

Looks like the tunnel ram carbs, pop that gasket off and see if there is a number stamped on the base plate also what is the diameter of the throttle blades? they are most likely 750's.

they look like an pair of 660's center squirter carbs. they look like they have been converted to dual feed, i had a pair on my old tunnel ram, they ran good but used lots of fuel

I was looking in my holley book, and there are carbs that look like yours, list numbers 8156, and 0-6109 both 750's

6109 pri jet is 75, sec 76, power valve 8.5, primary discharge nozzle .025, sec nozzle .032, throttle bores 1-11/16"

8156 pri jet 70, sec jet80, power valve6.5 , primary discharge nozzle .028, sec nozzle.031, throttle bores 1-11/16"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bores were just under 1.7" on my dead battery calipers. Sounds like we're getting close. I'll check the jets next.

Thanks!

They are not 660's, the center deal is for an air cleaner stud, you can see the squirters on each end and the accelerator pumps they are double pumpers!..

they are 750 tunnel ram carbs with down leg boosters, and side hung bowls, they are a little rare, basically your standard 750 DB with side hung bowls. They were the replacement for the 660, power valve capable, and progressive secondaries. They ARE 6109's, the dead give away is they are the only side hung carb I know of that is a dual feed with the feeds caddy corner to each other, and no transfer tube. Holley used two side hung primary bowls ( so they would have two pumps) to make up this carb and that put the feeds on opposite corners. My book says that your jetting and power valves are really close.

looks like 6109's to me, i have two sets

Fiat4805-20-2007, 02:18 PM
I was wrong that they could not be 6109's. They probably are. If so they are great carbs. I guess I forgot that 6109's were side hung floats.
