I am running a Comp Cam CB 290 with a 578 lift and it sounds wimpy. 2 1/2" with 40 series FlowMasters and looking for a change.

Here's one from a couple years ago...and yes, I did knock the camera down at the end!! My friend and his wife decided to drop by the garage and say hi, and it sorta messed up my video clip. But anyway, 3" exhaust, no crossover, Dynomax Ultra Flow ovals, turndowns at rear axle. Im not sure what cam was there at the time, there have been so many! I think it was 250/256 solid roller, 108LSA.

3 questions:

1) Do 3" pipes really emphasize the cam chop or do most of you just have very stout motors?

2) What are the louder types or flow masters? I have 40 series. Are the 50 series louder or American Thunder?

3) How much louder is a system that stops at the muffler or has very little pipe after?
