Default What cid would a 396 bored .060 over be?

Gang,

My 396 is bored .060 over, what would that make it?

Do they have an air cleaner sticker for that size?

Thanks.

I'm just guessing here

If a .030 over 396 is a 402, then would a .060 be a 406?

407.66 or 408 for rounding up.

I don't recall such a sticker.

I've not seen an air cleaner decal in the 408 size (that's what a .060 396 comes out to) but I do have one that's for a 402 and it's made to look exactly like the 396 and 454 stickers that came on open element big blocks. I got mine off ebay but don't remeber who I got it from.

ALL the aftermarket sources who carry decals will have a 402 decal.

Also, as mentioned several times above, a .060 over 396 will be 408, whereas a .060 over 402 will be 414. It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that you could ever notice the difference between an equally built 408 vs 414.
Also, it is VERY PROBABLE that any 396 will go to .090 over safely. Thus, you could use .060 over 402 pistons in a .090 over 396.
I specifically make this last point because .090 pistons for a 396 are very uncommon, BUT, .060 pistons for a 402 are as common as dirt. DUUUUUUUH!!!

Solving (x+.030)/(x)=20.04993766/19.89974874 and then substitution x back in the equation (x+.060)/(x)=20.04993766/19.89974874 you get 407.6615853 .This is only approximate. Equations not exact since no square root symbole on my keyboard. Plus I think the 402 and 396 might not be exact.
