Default Console ideas

I have a 69 chevelle that I am getting ready to tackle the interior. The car was originally a columm shift, but I will be moving that to the floor, but I don't care for the factory console. Has anyone installed a console out of another car, or a custom console in theirs?? I would rather have one that had an armrest for comfort and maybe a cupholder. Pics would be great if anyone has some.

Thanks,
Brian

I am planning to build a console out of fiberglass and painted to match the dash.. BTW, this is for my 65. I would say to build your own and wrap it in vinyl to match your dash and interior. I personally like the factory consoles in the 69. I am also planning to smooth the dash, put my shifter, stereo, and a/c controls in the console.

I built a 70 SS 454 Sta. Wgn from a 71 nomad wagon, Installed Bucket seats wanted a console, The only problem, narrow space between the seats. In my wagon is an S-10, they have many different styles. I went with the armrest style with a flip storage container and the top is padded. 10 bucks at the boneyard. If you ever see my wagon its a RED 70 SS 454--Green SS dash--Buckets--SS wheels--Black stripes.--70 El camino SS 454 M 22 org. ownr.

Jblack, Did you put in the pull emergency brake handle too? Or do something else with the slot?

Looks good.

I didn't do anything with the slot. Just left the rubber grommet in there.

I want a button on my shifter handle too!

I have some pictures in my signature. Big pictures, too large to include here.

I think mine is a 3rd Gen camaro console.
