My wife and I just got back from Vegas. As far as places to eat:
Hash House (3 different locations, we ate at the Imperial Palace location) Make sure you go in there hungry as their portions are bigger than I have ever seen. It is "farm food" as they put it. Just basically good home cooked type food with a twist.

Tacos and Tequila at the Luxor. If you like mexican food this place is great.

TAO at the Venetian. This is a pretty fancy Chinese restaurant. It is very good, but pricey. It was a little over $100 for us to eat there.

First Food and Bar at the Venetian. It has very good American food.

D. Vino at the Monte Carlo. Excellent Italian food.

The places we ate were generally more expensive than restaurants of the same quality where I live. I guess you are paying for the experience. Anyway all of the places listed were good and I would definitely eat at any of them again.

Also, as far as shows go, there is a hypnotist show that we saw that was hilarious. It was Mark something. There are several places along the strip called Tix4tonight. They sell discounted tickets for shows that are going on that day. I suggest trying to get a ticket for that show. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks again guys, going to check in on the Cirque de Soleil "O". I like seafood, steaks, buffets, you name it except chinese. I like comedy shows, gamble a little, and small concerts. It is our 15 year anniversary and thought we should take a small break from our 3 kids this year for our own vacation. We want to have a fun kick back let our hair down vacation. Our kids are so spread out (14 yr old, 7yr, and 15 month old) so we have no time to our selves. Keep the ideas coming. A good car show would be great but don't see any the week after easter so that kinda sucks. But I will have a good time with the hottest chick I know!!! Thanks again and keep the ideas coming I really appreciate it.

I just got a flier in the mail today, Golden Nugget (downtown on Fremont St. Experience) is havin' a room sale, Sunday thru Thursday is $45/night until the end of April. I stayed there in the Rush tower last year on Labor Day weekend. Nice place, I'd never stayed downtown before, always on the strip. Fremont St. Experience is good fun. All kinds of stuff going on. Rented a car to get around. Hash House chicken and waffles plate was awesomeness, I almost finished that monster. The buffet at the Wynn was great food too. Just get there early or be prepared to stand a long time in line. We walked right in about 5pm, by the time we left, the line had a couple hundred people in it. Same with the buffet at the Bellagio. A big treat for me was the Bass Pro Shops store there. We don't have anything that even starts to compare around here. Even the wife was impressed. In-&-Out Burger is right across the street from it too. Delicious burgers. Some say the best part of their Vegas experience is meeting Rowdy and his Chevelle. Unfortunately for me, he was having transmission woes at the time. I'm sure I'll get the chance in the future, as the wife has her sights set on Vegas as a future residence. ;)

I go to Vegas on a regular basis, mater fact I will be there for the drags the end of March. Mid week stays are the least expensive, senior rates if your that old, package deals [air, lodgeing, rental car] Most airlines have week day package deals, I just got a deal from Southwest Airlines, that includes all the before mentioned and I'm staying a very nice hotel [LVS].

Hooters Casino is a good choice for a low cost place to stay. I have stayed there several times and have been very pleased. It certainly isnt fancy, but thats not what I was looking for. It is clean, conveniently located, and a cheap place to sleep.
As far as car guy stuff, the Shelby museum and the car collection at Imperial Palace are both worth doing.
