I don't want to interrupt or change your post but just thought that this info might help you.I have 2 ElCamino's that need oil changes so doing this helped alot.I used to change my oil the same way or close to the way you do but it got to be too much.So since I put hardly any miles to none on them in the winter I decided to go to a once a year oil change.
I waited till late in the fall,then after the last time I used either one I changed the oil hot and put the car away.Come spring time I check the oil, start it up and take it for a good ride.Now its ready for a cruise if all the projects I have to do are done.
So basically I just stopped dumping the oil that just sat in the pan over the winter without hardly any miles on it.Ther only difference I have noticed was in my $ output.Obviously if you put a bunch of miles (say over 250 ) on during the winter then this post may not help much.
