Sinister, another cam folks are having good luck with on the cheap is the ZR1 cam. Not knocking your setup because its fun to see how far this car has come. Keep up the good work.

For the zr1 cam you have to swap to a gen 4 cam sensor front cover along with a jumper harness or extend the wires.

I knew there was something just didn't know what it was. Thanks for posting that. I think I can get my goals with the LS6 if not I will probably get one of stock 48's cams.

Is the Zr1 cam the same as the ls9 cam? That cam does make power upstairs but gives up huge torque down low...

I think the Z06 cam in the LS7 and the ZR1 is the LS9 but could be wrong. I want instant spool and more low end and that's why I went with the LS6....plus it was cheap!

Yes the zr1=ls9. The cam is not a great fit for a naturally aspirated 5.3 but is a good choice in boosted applications. I believe it is cheaper than the ls6 cam at your gm parts counter as well(not counting the other parts required).

Well it took me a few days to get it right but it is done. All I have to do is wrap the down pipes and clean up the engine bay some. I like how the down pipes turned out. Now I can mount a meth tank right on the firewall and not have to worry about the down pipes getting them hot.

I lost about 37lbs off the front pulling the IC and all the piping that went with it. Anyways here is an updated picture with the new set up. NO IC, BWS366's, 4" Down pipes.

I thought you were going with intercoolers due to the gains in efficiency?

I am an On3 guy. I was blown away that a budget build could go 5.99 with $300 turbos. However, I had bought some nice 18" rims and tires for my chevelle last year. When I mounted them they looked like crap. lol I guess I was so used to seeing the big tires on the back (315/60) that it looked like pizza boxes on my car. They were a nice set of rims with Nitto tires never driven on. A guy who I am help to build his first turbo set up bought a set of these for his L33. I figured he wanted to lay down some power in his nova. Anyways, he only wanted to run 6.90's and did not have any wheels and tires for his Nova at all. It was on blocks in Primer. He mounted my wheels and liked the looks so we swapped for the wheels and tires. It worked out good for both parties. He saved about $350 and I wasn't stuck with a set of wheels I couldn't use. lol

Nope. I went with an A2A from ebay, $180 last year when I went 5.99. However I felt as though it was holding me back. The problem was I had too much money in the bottom end to chance running No Intercooler. Now that I am back to the junk yard engines its a no brainer. No intercooler. I ran 6.0's consistently with junk engines, On3's, E85 and NO intercooler. 6 months a pop. Works for me. I have never paid more than $850 for a complete set up. I sell the coil packs for a $150, the wiring harness for a $150, the pcm for a $150, the starter for $35, the water pump for $75. by the time I sell everything I ended up getting the engine for free or its a couple hundred bucks tops.
