Anybody have any issues with the magnaflow 2 1/2 kit for 64-67? I got the header back with x pipe all installed. Everything is centered level and straight. Mufflers sit lever and tucked up nice. But tail pipes wont go. The passenger side fits perfect. The drivers side hangs down 3 inches. looking from the rear axle both mufflers look perfect.

The exhaust that came off which I installed in 1976 had offset to offset mufflers. The magnaflow has offset to center. If both were offset I would have plenty of room to adjust. I can see that the left tailpipe is bent a little different then the right as far as bends go.

Well I guess I will see how good magnaflow customer service is. I cannot see anyway to fit the left side pipe other then cut and re-weld. I tryed every adjustment possible. Even if I measure it up to trim both pipes it wont work. Has to be the over the rear pipe. You can see left to right pipe are bent differently and the left is longer.

I bought this kit because it was supposed to fit not the case.

I did try to spin and rotate that side. Tryed every adjustment possible. You can only spin the pipe so far since its so close to the upper control arms. If they use offset offset mufflers things would fit so much better. Like I said you can see the over the rear pipes are different side to side. Thank you for the help tho.

Hi David. They sent me another tailpipe and I installed tubular upper controls for more clearance. Fits better but not tucked up like I would like it to.

I am not liking the Magnaflow sound. So I am going to put flowmasters on. But I will buy offset offset mufflers. The offset mufflers will without a doubt tuck the tailpipes up were they should be.

I had problems with the kit for 68-72, as the left u shaped pipe that goes over the axle did not match the right. The difference could only be seen when laying the 2 pipes on the garage floor in different positions. The result was a pass side pipe that was titlited upwards towards the bumper. Struggled for days until I realized it was the pipe and when I called them they told me to return it, and they would warranty the system but since the front was all finsihed and cut to size, I just had the muffler shop splice the rear section and weld it on at the correct angle - took an extra 45 mins of labor but I was there to have the joints welded up anyway. Magnaflow claimed it was virtually impossible for this to happen since the pieces are all robotically bent and cut but......

Having said that I got the kit for a great price and I do like the sound.
