I just bought a rebuilt Gen V 1991 454. I notice that there are two holes on the passenger side of the block above where starter would mount. These holes will accept 1/4" plugs. I tried to push a dowel in each one to see if it went all the way through. It does not. Does anyone know what these two holes are for? Should I just put 1/4" plugs in them. Also on the 1991 Gen V 454 where does the oil pressure switch go? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

:sad:i'm sorry i was reading the Driver's side for some reason?????????
there should be two pipe plugs or cooler lines on the drivers side of the block and you could run your pressure gauge to there....

They are blind holes, don't worry about them UNLESS you plan on using a set of Sanderson Cast Iron Block Hugger headers. If this is your intent>>>get out the grinder and grind the bosses off.

These headers fit extremely close to the block (mini starter highly reccommended)

pipe plug just above the oil filter boss
pipe plug at the very front of the block on the driver side.
