They sent a guy out and estimated the damage at 5k. Seems like its way short of the cost.
The insurance company think those 1/4s can be fixed and not replaced. I'm not a body guy, but can't see how it's worth the time & labor to even attempt a 1/2 assed repair.

The car just got picked up and it's at a local shop who just finished up a friends 68. Hopefully it all works out.

The metal can probably be worked back with a hammer and dolly and other tools and get close to the original shape. But I don't think I'd trust many shops to spend the time to do it right though. I've seen some crap work done where they hammer it out to get it 'close' then lather on the body filler to hide the rest. From the photos, if it was mine and doing it myself I'd probably attempt to repair the panels and see if I could work out the distortions in the panel before replacing the whole quarter. I'd prefer a shop replace the panel, but then again, how good of a job will the do on that either?
Was there any serious damage around the windshield, besides a broken glass?

1. pic of car when purchased, used to be a drag car, it had racing slicks
2. two pics of car with different wheels, the rear wheel well 1/4 was cut to make room for the slicks
3. 5 years into a frame off. the interior was gutted plenty to save weight. currently still working on the sheet metal.
i can still drive my 68 coupe in the meantime, otherwise i would have purchased a more complete convertible

My big worry was the windshield got pushed back, but everything looks straight. (seems strange to even say) The only worry I have now is that the door gap opened up a bit as the L/R 1/4 was pushed down. It's not a huge, but still wider on top than before.

Thankfully the branches on hit the hood, so it has minimal damage up front. Fender took a bump and the hood took one small dent. Drivers door caught a dent right in front of the mirror. Only the right fender and door made it out unharmed.

Time to start picking a new color.... Thinking about copper.
