I have a 69 ss convertible. The original block was cracked and put away somewhere. Probably gone. If i wanted to search for the block to that car what would i use? the vin on the car has some of the numbers on the block? Id like to start by a simple google search.

The block would have been stamped '19LNNNNNN', where 'LNNNNNN' is the last 7 digits of the car's VIN (one letter and 6 numbers). If the car was made in Canada, there would be 7 numbers, no letter.

not sure what to paint the car now?with that code 76 daytona yellow trim tag.i see only one color paint that the car should be painted and thats daytona yellow.that color is not seen on a lot of 69 SS cars let alone on a convertible.when was the last time you seen a daytona yellow 69 SS convertible chevelle?plus there are only two colors specific to the 69 SS chevelle 72 hugger orange and 76 daytona yellow.making your car pretty rare for sure.
now if it was me i would restore the car back to original if possible.just because it is a daytona yellow car.it is your car and you can restore it any way you so chose.love your convertible and love to see more pics.

DAYTONA YELLOW! This truly is a case where any other color on that car will hurt its value, you have a gem there! What a color combo and original too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck with it!
