I want to put your keyless ignition in my Chevelle. I am using one of your columns that I bought for another project in my 69 Chevelle. Since the 69 has the ignition key in the column I will need to use a different kit. Which kit would you recommend. Thanks Edd

Hi Uppster,
Is the chevelle a 69 like your other project? You could purchase the push button start that is already installed into the column or you could purchase the kit seprately and install it into the dash. We can always remove the iginition from the column before ididit sends the steering column to you. |

Brian,
Im have purchased a replacement column for my 1966 Super Sport Chevelle and got stopped when I took it out of the box that the wiring connector is a flat GM connector yet my Chevelle is a curved connector. Do you sell an adapter kit or is there some type of instructions that you can provide so I can install this great looking piece in my Chevelle? Thanks in advance for you help ~ Tom Carter 1966 chevelle Super Sport 408" of Big Block power |

Hi Tom396,
There is a wiring adaptor sold seprately because we don't know if the customer is using their original wiring in the vehicle or replacing it. The part number is 3100037542 and can be order through us directly if you call or any of our dealers across the nation. Thank you, |

Hey Brian,
I have a quick question about your columns. I'm looking at purchasing a floor shift column for a '67 in your "black powdercoat" finish. I'm wondering if the black is gloss/semi-gloss/satin etc....? It's hard to tell from the pics online. Thanks! |

Hi NorCal-55
The steering columns are a semi-gloss black but we can powder coat the column black for an upcharge. Thanks |

I talked to the guys when they were set up at the MSRA show in St. Paul a few weekends ago. They didnt seem to intrested in the idea because shafts are all different for the many makes and models. That makes sense to me but I can tell you this. I know about 15 guys in our club that would buy a column from you guys in a second if it meant they could either re-use thier stock steering shaft or use one made by Ididit if it matched the stock appearance. These street rod style borgeson style joints just look way out of place under the hood of a stock restorations or restorations that are close to stock. Add a bunch more guys here on TC as well as other forums and If there isnt a market for that type of product, ill eat my hat.

Hi ChrisR,
I understand keeping the original look and maybe Borgeson will eventually make original looking joints and shafts but currently we purchase what they machine. If we were to make our own we would need a division just for that purpose. Defiantly a possibilty but for the moment we are stuck with using aftemarket designed joints and shaft. Thanks, Brian |
