Just got back from the dyno today. The new build was running a bit harsh. Found out after the first pull that the retaining screw for the secondary flapper was missing. BOODAT! The results of the first pull were crap, of course, but had 189 HP with only the primaries. After the screw was replaced, the 2nd pull resulted in max HP of 465, and torque in the low 500s. But the carb ran dry and HP nose dived at about 4800 RPM. Pulled the carb apart and found that the needle and seat was too small. Bumped it from a 107 o a 151, whala, 475 HP was the final result, with no drop off. She pulled to a max HP at 5500 RPM. Not too shabby.

Very good numbers, what is the combo?

The new build was bored 30 over, with the typical domed pistons. Roller tip rockers, and a fairly beefy cam. Stock Q-Jet with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Sanderson headers. The transmission is an M-21.

Those numbers to the ground? Pretty nice for a "typical" build as you modestly describe it...

It looks like a smallblock in there. Are you saying you have a 355 putting out those numbers?

The link in his sig mentions a 454. Even a 468 making that kind of power to the tires seems very strong! I'd be interested in more about your "beefy" cam & head combo.
