Default T56 magnum - mechanical clutch linkage help needed

Has anyone successfully installed a new T56 magnum in a 67 BB chevelle with a quicktime bell and stock mechanical linkage? my fork/adjusment rod geometry is off. i have a mcleod fork but im finding out this is an 11" fork so i ordered the 3892632 fork which is suppose to be a 10" to see if that corrects it. second. when i depress the pedal, the back of the fork hits the trans. i'm getting an adjustable stud and give that a try. third, has anyone tried the T56 Mid plate from Mcleod with the 9 0'clock fork hole ? (i tried even fabricating a fork to get my goeometry right but it still hits the trans when you push the pedal )
pitcutes show adj. rod in stock location and fab'd location. i know it looks rediculous but im trying everything i can to get it lined up to work.

Quicktime 6023? When I look at those online, they look like the fork is at a slight downwards angle.

Your pics make it appears as if you're running the pushrod from a lower z-bar location to upper fork location and upper to lower? How many holes are we dealing with there? Obviously the lower on the z-bar is going to give more travel at higher pedal pressure.

What throwout bearing? What height ballstud?

I installed a 6023PB/T56 Magnum myself in my 69. You want the fork sorta leaning forward when the fork is resting on the TOB. It shouldnt hit the trans for sure.

Are you reusing all the linkage from the prior install?

I ended-up finding out after the fact that I had a mixture of clutch linkage parts rather than all the matching parts. Caused the clutch actuation to be very stiff and not even (had the wrong sized pushrod) and I was over adjusting other areas to compenstate. Once I got the right parts, everything started to make sense and work correctly.

yes, its is a QT-8023 bell. and your right, it does make the fork point downward. i am going to try the new 10" fork tonight (3892632). im using a stock timken TOB (short). the ball stud came with the bell housing and measures 1.5 inch. ( im also going to try a mcleod adjustable stud tonight) and im curcious about Mcleods t56 trans mid plate with the 9oclock fork cut out. (p/n 8705-01). i strongly believe my z bar is a repop. but it all worked fine with the muncie and scattershield. Thank you

Ok, the new 10" fork (3892632) & the adjustable bell stud really took care of a lot of my problems. but the angle of the adjustment rod was clearly still an issue. i welded a plate on the lower z bar arm to hang down one mre inch. that made the adjustment rod straighten right out. clutch seems to work properly now. i wil post pics soon. that t56 is heavy, i had it in and out quite a few times to get it right. 69-CHVL thanks for the info on pushing the fork forward. it made all the difference in world. hopefully i will have it wrapped up today for a test drive today

Jesse,

It's not a 67 but here is a thread from my T-56 Magnum install last summer. Photos may be helpful. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
