Hi Chas:
Really nice looking Vert you've got there . . . We had a blast at the ACES/MWC Regional in KC (Olathe)!! It was 'homecoming' for the old Chevelle - family and many friends (old and new) dropped by to visit with Karen and me. Many of the old friends and family had ridden in the car back in the day. A few were there who participated in or watched races 'in the flats' back in the day as well. ![]() We look forward to CB12, the chance to see old ACES friends again and make new ones. Can't wait for Michael and the gang from LA to get the cajun dinner going like the last two years!! Maybe we will have a chance to visit again . . . ![]() RogerD |

WOW!!!!! GREAT story, GREAT looking DHPC COPO '69 Chevelle (427 no less) and congrats Roger and Karen, on your find and restoration. I haven't gotten anything done around here for the past three, count 'em , three days as I heve been mesmorised,Or however ya spell it, by this story, and I have new parts and good weather, and still have not been able to pull away from this thread. Once again congrats!!!!!!!!
One more thing, the mason jar in thee vent, I also remember someone else posted about a coke botttle...Back in the mid 70's I worked as a mechanic for Tishomingo Chevy Olds, and a buddys mom bought a brand new 75 or 76 4 door nova,(can't remember which) it came back a few time for minor warranty work, one of which was a "rattle",She brought it in several times just for that, we could not find it, EVERYONE in the shop test drove this car, over a pperiod of several months, and tried to figure out what it was, one day while we had the door panels off of it I decided to take the door off, against the wishes of the dealership owner, so i did it when he went to lunch, turnes the door upside down and ...... out falls a small (8oz I think they were) Coke bottle, with a piece of paper in it, fished out the paper, unroled it and it said, and I quote,"CONGRADULATIONS YOU FINALY FOUND IT", we all looked at that note, looked at each other and then, OH MAN, was the cuss words flying, a WWII sailor and a modern day rapper would have had to leave the shop, it was bad, and after we all settled down, after a day or two, , we had to laugh about it, after all it was a pretty good joke on the mechanics from someone on the line when the car was built, maybe same thing on yours. Once againGREAT story and GREAT CHEVELLE PS. We, (wife and I ) are gonna have to come and see that car( and ya'll to) we only live about 150 miles North and it will make a nice day trip. Congradulations to both of you. Mac
