Thanks, Marc

It's so easy to cut and fit so why would you pay a premium for a custom kit?

Exactly! Unless the custom kits turned out to be cheaper by using less than the universal kits.I doubt that will be the case though! BTW, if anyone is looking for cheap dynamat, look for audio shops going out of business. I got 5 of the Mega Pak Dynamat Extreme from a local stereo install place that went under, I picked it all up for $100 too! Thats 360 sq. feet for $100!!! I sold 4 of the packs to buddies for $100 each and kept one for myself so I made money off of it |

On the same subject, has anyone ever used a brand other than Dynamat?

Yes, the regular dynamat is just the same cheap asphalt as everywhere else, just marked way up so people will think it's something different and better. Dynamat extreme, raammat, second skin and the like are the better products that aren't just peel n seal from lowe's in a fancy package.

If you do a search here. There are a lot of posts about the other products and how many have had good success with them, such as Raamat.

I used Raammatt in my car and it works well. You would think my doors are from a Mercedes or somethhing and the sound proofing and heat insulation are great. I double =d and trippled up where the headers are near the floor pan where your feet are. Check out the sound deadener showdown http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi for a supposedly unbiased review of most of the sound deadeners. This review says Raammatt is the best for quality and price.

Has anyone ever heard of E-dead? There is a company called Elemental Designs that makes their own sound deadening material, very good stuff! If you are looking for a good product at a very good price, check them out. My son, the car audio guru, turned me on to their stuff, top quality all the way.

I have heard nothing but good about E-dead but have no personal experience with it! I did my whole interior with fatmat...I realize there is better technology out there but 130 bucks for 100 sq. Ft. It's hard to beet! Made a BIG difference...no more tinny clangy sounds inside, now it's all thuds! After doing this I would spend no extra money on something precut as all the time is rolling it into the contours, cutting pieces to fit perfect is not needed, besides the more that's overlapped the better, right!

Looks like intresting stuff. Wouldnt mind seeing some of this stuff in person and comparing it to the other products out there. Price certainly seems right.
For those that have it. Which type product of thiers did you use? Looks like they have a website too. http://edeadsounddeadening.com/
