Default 66 carpet install

hi, have a 66 coupe and going to install new carpet. car is a 4 speed w/console. does the front of the carpet go under the firewall pad? also does it go over the lower shifter boot or does the boot and retainer go on top? any help? thanks!!!

The boot/retainer is supposed to go on the floor, and the carpet goes over it... Not sure how the carpet should be, because the console covers it...

On a non-console car the facotry used a rubber ring to edge the carpet... those rings are nearly impossible to find ( In 28 years of playing with '66 Chevelles, I have yet to actually see one)...
