Any pics of lowered 64-65s. Im trying to figure out how much to lower it.
I was thinking of lowering my 64 3in in the front and 1in in the back. Has any one else did this? Any pics? What rims and tire sizes did you run? Show me pics with list of how much it was lowered and rim and tire sizes please. Thank you |

I have a collection of various 64/65's on my hard drive but I have no idea how much any of them are lowered.

Here's one of my favorites, the Detroit Speed test car. 2" drop spindles up front along with the rest of their speed kit 3 which is tubular control arms, their Coil-overs, splined sway bar, and their rear suspension.

I'd say my wagon has ended up with about a 3 inch drop. I'll probably try to get it back up an inch or more since this leaves me with less than 4 inches between the header collectors and the ground right now and the car isn't fully assembled yet.

I put 2" drop spindles & I" eibach drop springs on my 64 convt with 8" rims & 215/45 BFG G-force tires. Now I have a turning radius of about 95 feet and all kinds of rubbing issues.Just picked up some 1" spacers for the springs- & I hope that cures it-just goes to show you - DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST !

The Wheels on the DSE test car are Budnik Velocity R, which come in that color, or can be in all polished aluminum. The wheels are 18x8 with 4 7/8"bs in the front, the rears are 18x9 with 5.5" backspacing.

The fronts will rub on the fender a little if I take a sharp turn going up a driveway but that is easy to live with.
The issue that I can't take is the front cross member is only 3 1/2 inches off the ground so I'm taking off the 2" drops and putting on stock spindles, as the cross member will scrape on just about any speed bump or steep driveway. |
