I may think the looks of someone's car (specifically) looks like a "hack job". But I'm not that blunt as to say it like this nor am I this rude.

And like I said a long time ago. If I had to do it all over again I think I would grind on the dogbones more and on the block a little less. This is not a funny statement to me.
Speedfreek, I used to think Calculated Risk was kinda rude. But if you look through what he is saying. He's just being straight up with you. I have PM'ed Calculated Risk asking for some help on a subject and he was very helpful. I can also say the same about Wolf. It's not personal...

OK Iam gonna chime in again here. to the original poster is there a Pull-Apart in your area? the reason I ask is cause they have them nationwide and in cleveland where I just moved from you could buy a roller cam short block for $53 from them. if you truely want a stock style hydro roller cant beat that. the only reason I was gonna use the hybred thing and that the guy I gave the parts to finished what I started was cause we already had the parts so no outta pocket expense does it work yes did I already have experiance doing it yes from my days of running 5.0's. But if money is such a concern I am sure there are junk yards close by you. even if not try a builder my local builder there would sell you a honed and ready to go 350 block for $150 for a factory roller block. check around is all Iam saying before you go grinding on that block. I know the builder who did my 468 the one I am talking about here took trade ins aswell if you had a nonroller block and wanted a roller block he would do a trade in if he checked out your block and it was in same in useable condition he would give 50-75 off his doen block. FWIW

The cam was a retro fit hyd roller cam right??
Do a little research here on the forum. A few members here have had problems with cast core roller cams. Billet roller cams are more expensive but are apparently worth the additional expense

You and others on this forum as well as other forums I frequent have successfully completed the conversion.

I was really surprised how little block work is needed for the guide plates to sit flat. Contouring the edge of the guide plates to fit the radius of the block eliminates much of the work need in the block radius.

I've learned a long time ago that no matter what I do I talk to those that "can' not those with an argument.
