I think they were made by Jones Motorola and branded by Moroso. Jones Motorola was making them as early as 1956, maybe earlier.

Dick Moroso started his business in 1968, selling deep sump oil pans for drag cars. I wonder if he was private labeling other products by 1969? Could be, I guess.

Those were the days -- when a "stock car" was actually built out of a ... stock car !!

It is pretty cool though.
![]() I didnt think Allisons car was a 68 with a 69 front end. But the ad reads as if this is an original car that was restored and not a replica.

I don't remember him racing the Chevelle back in the day, but I do remember his gold & red 1971 Monte Carlo.
I think Coo Coo Marlin ran a 1969 Chevelle in NASCAR back then.

Pretty interesting photos...notice how a weight jacking screw has been added inside the front coils where the shock absorber would normally go, and the shock now mounts OUTSIDE the coils, with an upper mount on one of the bars.

That would NOT be one of the cars Bobby ran in Winston Cup, or what was then (68-69) known as Grand National. It was probably one of his short track cars used in what was then called Late Model Sportsman division on local short tracks. Bobby was racing Fords and Dodges in 68-69-70 on the big circuit.
Pretty sure the original engine would have been a small block. Cool car though.
