Default analog snapon tach-dwell meter dead !!!!

Does anyone know where I could get my Snapon dwell-tach meter looked at as it has died ? I bought this second hand a few years ago and although I haven't any vehicles with points it comes in handy for setting the timing and the curb idle on the shovel. It is probably the most practical and accurate of the three meters I own. I tried contacting Snapon, but they e-mailed back that parts where no longer carried for that meter. I feel that it could be something electrical as it is competely dead. The model number for the unit in question is : MT 417. Replacement, with new, is out of the question as Chevelles are a hobby to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ted

Maybe a chat with the local Snapon dealer would help. He might know of a repair facility. Or possibly a call to an instrument calibration shop would lead you to a repair place.

Our local Snap On man wanted to by my uncle's old dwell-tach meter for his personal collection. Then snappy told him that they are very rare.

Did you check to see if it has a battery? Mine does and if you leave the dial switch in the wrong position it goes dead.

In my former career I was a Snapon Dealer. You are lucky the facility that we sent diagnostic equipment like this is located in Crystal Lake IL. The number I have is Dealer only but you should be able to look them up and give them a call. They can fix it as well as walking you through the simple things over the phone.
good luck. those are fantastic tools I use mine all the time
