That's what I would do and just use the trim tag.
I would have left everything else there.

I had a few other interested buyers that wanted to just the motor and tags but I would not seperate them. When Robert came along he said he would take everything and that is why I sold it to him.

I could never own that car, I'd get whiplash answering the devil on my left shoulder telling me to just switch the tags and that "resto angel" telling me to go buy another spool of wire.

This will be a great story when the car is finished. I don't know of any other reunion cases like this with someone putting the engine back with the body after 20 plus years.

Using parts from a donor car is not a crime. Lots of people do it.

But in my opinion switching tags around is not ethical. I would never have considered switching tags on my car even though it was a basket case. It would have been easier to do that, but my conscience would never let me do it.

True but from the pictures it looks like the tag is the only part on the car that is usable.

There might be more usable there than what we can see from the pictures.

It may be a long and rough road, but in my opinion there is enough there to start with, especially if they can get a good title.

They actually restored that car... I think that one would make this look like a walk in the park!

Thanks Bill, I was thinking the same thing. If it wasn't a real SS I would'nt have done it. To be honest I didn't make a lot on the deal. I did it more for the story and factor.
