If these are secret i'll understand, just curious about things that were ommited in the article. I read about this car some ago, (but can't remember where and when) and was curious what is different now. I seem to remember it having a 540 in it before. It is a pretty good article and will be enjoyed by all. P.S..... Does he leave on the trannybrake or footbrake?
I love to read articles like that! Nothing like fast cars on little tires.

Henry D, would mind telling more info on the torq. converter? I have had nothing but trouble with the 3 that I used this year.

Thanks,

Tom

That definately is a place to find a missing tenth. Four thousand stall and one percent slippage sounds like something we could all make good use of.

Thanks Pat, it was good to see you out there. For those of you interested, I'll make a long story short, actually, I'll cheat and post the e-mail I sent out earlier this morning.

Last weekend, we were the first car in the history of Wild Street to run back to back 7s, only we did it three times with a 7.93 at 175, 7.94 at 175, and a 7.90 at 176! Not only did we take home the win, but we now own the ET Record with the 7.90 pass.

All said and done, we finished 3rd in the West Coast Hot Rod Association and while we’re still waiting on the PSCA points to be updated, I believe we finished 3rd there too.

Very good runs Henry. Mustangs rule the roost here as of right now. All three have runs sevens, unrestricted, but we don't have to do it on a 275 Drag Radials. What are the restrictions on Turbo and blowers in PSCA?

The rules are pretty liberal:

Base Weight (All weights are race-ready, car with driver)
4 Cly W/Any Power Adder............................................. .2800 lbs
V/6 W/Nitrous........................................... .......................3000 lbs
V/6 W/Turbo or Blower............................................ .......3100 lbs
Small Blocks W/Nitrous........................................... ........2850 lbs
Small Blocks W/Turbo (Up to 94mm) or Supercharger....3350 lbs
Small Blocks W/Twin Turbo (62mm ea) ..........................3350 lbs
Big Blocks Nitrous up to 550ci..........................................325 0 lbs
Big Blocks Nitrous 551ci and Larger................................3350 lbs
Big Blocks W/Supercharger...................................... ......3450 lbs

WEIGHT ADDS & BREAKS:
Add 50 lbs. for any Sheet Metal or Composite Intake Manifold.
Add 50 lbs. for any non Factory Manual Trans (single disc clutch type only)
Add 50 lbs. for Dry Sump Oiling System
Add 50 lbs. for Aluminum Engine Blocks
Add 100 lbs. for any Canted, Splayed Valve, Pro Stock or Big Chief Style Cylinder Heads
Add 100 lbs. for Ladder Bars and or Coil Over Rear Suspension.
Deduct 300 lbs. for no Power Adder.

I know people would like the 98mm turbos to be allowed, but I don't have enough experience with them to make a comment and can only go on what I've seen this year. But, I will say the one 94mm that was out there was able to run 179 mph.

When it comes to superchargers, I feel the weights need to be adjusted. The way our rules read, regardless of the blower, any blown big-block over 551ci has to weigh 3,450 (100 pounds less for 550ci and smaller) - meaning you can run an F3 ProCharger over the F2 and not get penalized for it. Truth be told, both are incredible blowers, but that F3 is something else. Matter of fact, there was a fourth-gen Camaro weighing over 3,500 pounds with a 598ci big-block and a F3, running 183 mph pig rich. Man, that was impressive!

Congrats Henry and Artis no better real world testing than actually racing

PS- Love the mag, needs more Chevy P/Us though . check out the youtube video that fowl69 posted awhile back. an '84 that runs 10.61 w/ a 1.41 and wheels up. I'd love to see an artcle on that. it's in a post # 201 pg 14 of " how to run 9ns on pump gas". it's a long drawn out thread but the video is sweet. check it out if you got time one day.

do you mean this one ? they have a new best of 10.30 @ 128 with a 1.44 60ft but the truck will put down a 1.37 60ft at any track with a drag radial , it is unreal how stock this truck is 4400# right down to the bench seat and small block with AC.

Aaron Myers' 84 GMC 10.61 @ 125 1.40 60 ft !!!! on MT ET Street Drag Radials!

I heard recently that Procharger was in the midst of redoing the F-2R to up the boost it was capable of producing. it's a 1700 H.P. blower now. A guy from Michigan put one in a 4400 lb. station wagon and it's supposedly running eights and breaking a lot of parts.
