Putting the stock fuel pump onto the Chevy engine seems easy enough...
Slid the push rod up into the block with fingers and then held it there with a little hacksaw blade. Then fit the pump up tight, pulled the blade out and voila'... the pushrod slid down onto the pump arm and everything aligned and bolted right up.
One concern - the arm on the old pump moves about 1/2" up and down like a lever arm, but the new pump it is basically immobile... it does not move at all (although I didn't put a lot of pressure on it) Is that the way a new pump is or is something amiss? I'm a little worried about starting the thing up and having parts bend, break or blow up!
