This dosen't immediately help your problem, but I would highly recommend buying a factory Assembly Manual for your car.

It will give you detail to the nut, bolt and washer on this, and every other question that you will likely have.

The first thing I do when I buy a car is buy an Assembly and Service Manual.

These are a must have.

You can likely contact your parts supplier tomorrow morning, tell them what your dilema is, and a good sales rep should be able to send you anything that's missing, and your new Assembly manual to help you solve this, and many other future questions regarding correct assembly details for your car.

Good Luck.

No the hood is off, the brackets they gave me does not have bolts to attach the flapper door brackets to the hood. I was wandering what the bolts look like, not bolts from the hardware store but the original bolts. looks as if it calls for 4. also the flapper pivot bolts dont fit the bracket, was just wondering if im am missing something however looks as if I might have to re-tap the brackets for the pivot bolts they sent me. Not that this is shocking, but its tiawain stuff. I was just wanting to make sure that I was on the right track, the assembly manual calls for the nylon washers to go on the outside of the door between the hood and the door just wanted to make sure this is correct because sum stuff listed in the assembly manual is off, you know what I mean.

Ken,

You may have issues with the flapper door alignment in the repro hood. I had to modify the hood area where the welded nuts are located for the door brackets. I actually had to cut the area out, bolt the flapper door to the piece I cut and once the door aligned properly, I welded it back. It had to be repositioned 3/16's of an inch to allow the door to align properly.

I also had to use several shims to get the door flush.
