i was told from someone that a 64 thru 67 chevelle frame was the same as a 68-72 chevelle but the 64-67 is 3 inches longer. Does anyone know if this is an accurate statement.
I got those from here. chevellestuff.c
What "other" frames are you talking about. Most A-body cars of a given year have the same frames. IE; 67 Chevelle, LeMans, Cutlass, Skylark,
You can only interchange 64-67 A body frames with other A body frames. 4 door frames will work on 64-67 IF you remove about 3" from the rear frame rails.
68-72 will only internchange among 2 door coupes and convertibles. 4 door frames are 4" longer in the center as are El Caminos and Wagons.
The earlier frames have different body mount locations and dimensions than their later counterparts.
I have a 68 with some frame issues, I have a chance on a 70 monte carlo. Everything I found calls the Monte a GM A body "Special" not just an A body. Will it fit my 68 chevelle?
