Can someone please post a few pictures of the proper routing of the power steering lines from the pump to the gear box for a 1969 Chevelle set-up. The way I have my hoses routed just does not look correct!
I have a picture but it isn't close enough and i would take another but my motor is just about out and the p/s pump is out.But with 69 the pump is only made in that year. then in 70 it changed. How I routed mine is underneath the pump and around for the return and for the pressure come out from the box and turns 180 to the pump.If you google images of a 69 Chevellepower steering pump I found a few pictures there
dan, do you have the assy manuel, it shows the routing for the hose's. sorry i don't have any pictures right now. they also show the clips that holds the lines together, ground up sells them. hope this helps. bill:beers:
I do not have a 1969 manual. My Chevelle is actually a 1968, but I added the long water pump, passenger side alternator and 1969 pulleys and brackets..........so my 1968 manual will not help me out. I'm pretty sure the return hose is correct; it does go towards the front of the steering box and underneath the pump. The pressure line seems like it is sticking up in the air too much??
dan, does the pressure line run under the pump or up & around? if you have the correct pump for 69 then both lines will run side-to-side from the gear box to the frt of the box then down & around under to the back side of the pump. bill
Does this picture also apply to a 1970 Chevelle?
I searched these forums but could not find a good picture for the proper hose routing for the 1970 BB power steering lines.
Any suggestions from this forum?
