Bad Dean!

Radio Shack discontinued it's standard sizing 8 ohm speakers in 2000. Now you can only get speakers in 4 ohm sizes. If you use a stock radio, the 4 ohm speakers will fry the output circuitry. Just food for thought.

If this is an aftermarket radio, go ahead and buy the radio shack speakers.

This will be an aftermarket stereo. Aren't the speaker holes round? 4" round speakers should fit? Thanks!

Guys, now that the new server is in place, I will be updating radio tech with some new speaker information. (need to find some time though!)

Kevin, The originals were "rectangular", the main thing to remember is don't get speakers with giant magnets, if you do and you place the magnet on the driver's side too close to the guage/speedo cluster, you will magnetize and ruin your instrumentation!

There is a way to run 4 ohm speakers with stock radio equipment. I will show you how later...8 ohm speakers are now dinosaurs
