I am trying to decide on a color for my 68 Elky. I would like to see any 68-72 Elky's painted in the above colors mentioned please. Does anyone know the paint code for Candy Apple Red ?? Is that a legit name color ?? Thanks,Mark ----------------------------------------------------------------------------1968 Chevelle Malibu 1968 El Camino

was it originally red? If I was painting one and not going back to original color I would choose something besides red. Why you ask? EVERYONE has a red car (me included). the teals are beautiful the grecian green is a great color. Check ou the color charts for the year 68 on the front page of the site. mine is a 72 painted in Porsche Red

It is a PPG base coat/Clear coat type paint. I don't know the paint code, but it IS a factory GM color.
"1992 Cadillac 'Medium Garnet Red Metallic'"

Any paint shop should be able to look it up based on that info. When I was rear ended- The bodyshop was able to match the paint exactly.

BTW: Caddillac has an even better color now though... When I repaint my 70 olds (my current car) I'm going to repaint it 2005 Cadillac "Crimson Pearl"

Go to caddillac's website and look at their new cars- I can't remember the name of the car with this color(its their little 2 seater)- but I saw one in person on a sunny day and it was unbelieveable. Thats the color for me!

Something to look into.
