im going to get my sbc 350 rebuild in my 1970 chevelle, stock ss hood with cowl induction. i would like to put a smaller supercharger on it, but i dont want to do any modification to the hood. is this possible? do you have any suggestions on brands and size?
The smallest would be a weiand 144 I believe...unless you go with something like a whipple or vortech...but I think those come to about the same height as well. I dont think it will fit...but not certain.
A Weiand 142 or 144 will work fine on a small block. I have installed both on a Chevelle w/SS hood. I have a Weiand 177 on a '70 with a big block and also installed one on a friends '70, I had to get creative with the air cleaners on the big block cars.
i installed a 489 b/b with an f1r procharger under the hood of a 70, stock cowl hood-so theirs options out there, based on your abilities
