Does anyone make a kit for smoothing the firewall on a 67 Chevelle. I checked out Metal Works Performance and they have them for 68 and up. They were working on a 66/67 A-Body one, put it has been put on the back burner and they do not know when they will have it ready. Is there anyone else out there?
Am sorry but that metal works kit is a flippin rip off IMO. Its nothing more then some sheetmetal cut out to fill the blanks in the firewall.
The going price for a piece of 4'x 10' piece of 18ga crs is around 90 bucks.
Get some posterboard at office depot, just bought a piece today of 4x5 for 79 cents and trace out the patterns on the poster board. Cut the poster board to fit the holes then transfer to the metal. Cut the metal to match the posterboard.
Plus I think when installed like that it looks stupid as you still have all the factory dimples, other small holes and little bends and curves. It looks like a patched up firewall.
The best smooth firewall would be to cut the entire thing out and replace it with a new one
I'd love to smooth out my firewall in one piece like sevt_chevelle mentioned. What do you do about the Vin Plate that is on the firewall now? Thanks to anyone.
