Hey bud! I haven't been on here much in a long time, but I decided to get on here this morning to see what you've been up to! WEIRD! Anyway, not a lot going on here. I've been working a lot of overtime, and my wife is still going to school full time. I just had a birthday (40). The car is running great, although I haven't been driving it as much as I'd like to. The rust at the bottom of the doors is starting to pop through the paint, So I'm thing a paint job is in the future. That paint is pretty bad anyways... And its starting to sag a little on the drivers side, so I'm thinking some suspension work as well. How is everything on your end?

    Hi Jeff,
The part number is just before the amp rating

110xxxx (part number format) 63A (amps)
x*xx (date code format) then 12VNEG (= 12 volts negative ground)

    I am looking for alternators
1102908 built within a few months before April 15th 1979 (i can decode the date codes)
    and
    1100926 or 1100948 built within a few month before September 9th 1972.

    Thank you

    Yep.
Pull the metering rods and set aside.. pull top off carb leave acc pump in the hole .

Now make sure there is fuel in the well depress the pump it should be a tight fit..Sometimes the rubber shrinks and the fit is loose.

If it is tight remove the squirter.. there is a brass peg under the squirter.. under that is a check ball.. a tiny one.

Remove the brass peg and wiggle the check ball as it may be frozen in place.
    Should squirt then.

Now sometimes the brass peg is pointy on one end.. if this is the case you will not have a check ball..

Make sure fuel will pass from the tiny well under the pump through the squirter well.. a spray can carb cleaner or wd 40 with the red straw will be a good checking spray.
