    Dave,
I would not recommend a billet for what you are doing. Not needed. The SADI cores I use are recommended up to 260# seat and 650# Open. 95% of my hyd rollers are on these cores including Davey's. $545 to you door SADI or Everwear Billet.

cstraub, if you get a chance could you read my post in the performance section called Engine Advice and apply some input. I have read a few of your post and think I could gain some knowledge and help from you. Thanks!

You would be much better off with the 305 to what you have now. Those heads you have will probably CC out in the mid 340cc range. The biggest GM head on a 454 was 320cc. There is no port velocity in the head therefore the fuel distribution will be terrible.

Yes if the 305's are a good deal they will much improve your situtation.

Hi chris, you recently chimed in on my rich afr at cruise problem.I knew the 340 heads were to big for my displacement, however really didn't understand full scope.I might have an opportunity to purchase a set of used AFR 305 heads.I have idea that the AFR 290 ovals would probably be better.what do you think about the 305s with my eng combination?Would it noticeably improve performance and efficiency?
    Thanks,Mack

Why is it we never have time or money to do it the right way in the beginning but we always have time and money to do it over again?
