hey Dan. What kind of old cars do they have over there? I imagine in the desert and the country being a bit like a 3rd world country, probably lots of old iron sitting in the desert. Imagine finding a old rolls royce left over from WWII or something.
Be careful and get home safe. Jim

just install the pedals. the Z bar brackets bolts to the frame with the 2 bolts, install the pivot ball into the block, mount the Z bar. The long rod goes from the clutch pedal to the top of the Z bar, then the short stubby rod goes from the bottom of the Z bar to the clutch fork. Just remember the Z bar is just a pivot point, when you get under the car, it gets pretty self explanitory. if you have any questions feel free to ask. Wait until the first time you row through the gears, its worth all the aggrevation. Dont forget to install the clutchfork before you install the tranny. also dont beat on the pilot bushing, I used some emery to clean out the pilot hole in the back of the crank. jim

You know a machine shop wont do anything unless they can do everything to a motor because they cant warranty it if they dont. However, if the bores decent, and the crank is clean, theres nothing wrong with just throwing a set of bearings and rings in it and calling it good to go. especially if the motor isnt going to be a daily driver type thing. jim

Yes it is a new feature on here and figured I would give it a try. I think I have that peice, but will have to check. I have the el camino almost completely stripped inside and out and have already started stripping paint and started bodywork. It is a hard time to be working outside, but it is better than doing nothing. I am still looking for an engine. I took the 396 to Larry and he said to build it would be about 3500. That isn't going to happen so I figured that I will start looking for 454 runners. figure put my heads on it and be good. kinda bummed about the 396 as that was my reasoning on buying the car. I am glad you got the 4 spd in!!! I hope you are enjoying it to it's fullest. Have a great day and talk to you soon. Justin
