Got it installed, drove it a few miles, re-tighten all the mounting bolts, still clunks when lugging in first gear, I hear a clunk in the rear end while in first, going on and off the gas, making the car hop. No whine on the road. Now that I think about it, I need to re-check the U-bolts to make sure they are tight, but I feel they are. Do you think it is the Pinion or possible axel? And will it hurt to drive it like it is?

If Money would permit, then I could just send to Finishing Touch. But I was thinking of how I could remove the inside retaining ring, then I could just take to a local restoration shop to have any imperfections removed and polished. The I would re-install the inner retaining ring. I have it this far and though I could just peal the ring out, doesn't seem to be working. Anyone have any luck with removal and re-installation? Thanks,

I leaned out the idel screws front and back. But I would like to put the correct Idel speed RPMs. Its has an automatic transmission 400. and the engine has a mild cam. Currently I have it ideling at 800 in park and 650 or so in drive. Am I close? Or should I adjust the speed for the smoothes idel in drive?

Shouldn't be too bad though.. [if at all]..........On most later years, the cable will work with little to no mods..
Guys I know this is an old post but was doing research on this because Im switching to a cable set up and already have the new Lokar cable. However Id be interested in seeing how you guys rigged this up to a stock pedal. Lokar states you can use stock pedal but on a 66 theres nothing to mount it to. No eyelet or anything. I realy dont want to invest in thier pedal assembly if I dont have to.

So anyone out there do this mod? Id love to hear how you did it. Thnx Frank
Sorry for any confusion if anyone ansers in the other forum but it just didnt make sense as to why it was there? It was an old post. thnx again Frank
