velleluvr Aug 16th, 05, 10:50 AM Well our best friends got married last weekend and they used our chevelle as their car for the day - we have some pics and they are good - we are just waiting for the photographers pics to come back but here are some of the ones we have now

They got married in a museum - everything was from the late 1800's and early 1900's this gas station just looked like the car belonged there
Joe Y Aug 16th, 05, 12:19 PM Cool!
I'm getting married next year and of course, the chevelle will be apart of it. However, we're taking pictures afterwards so nobody will get to hear it, and that's half the fun. ;)
Bill Pritchard Aug 16th, 05, 3:05 PM Very nice!!!!! A black 68 Chevelle (well, OK, El Camino) was used in our wedding, too......31+ years ago

velleluvr Aug 16th, 05, 3:10 PM Joe good Luck with that - we are getting married in 2007 and the Chevelle will be used then again for us - as well our friend has a red 68 chevelle that we are going to ask to borrow so we will have both cars as the back drop behind the gazebo
webfoot Aug 16th, 05, 6:22 PM Just got married August 6th and my goal for the year was to have my 70 done in time but it didn't happen.... oh well... She just gave me clearance to buy my wheels, tires & new door panels :D
jfabozzi Aug 16th, 05, 6:40 PM I just got married (July 23rd, 2005) and I BEGGED/GROVELED (and maybe shed a tear) to have my chevelle as the car for the day but I was told no. Sad day, car had to stay home and sit in the garage.

And you still went through with the wedding? You should have taken that as a hint to cut your losses and walk away.
velleluvr Aug 16th, 05, 10:27 PM Guys, here are some more pictures of the Chevelle and the Bride and Groom.

Bride and Groom With car. Yeah I know she sat on it.
zeke67 Aug 16th, 05, 10:27 PM My 67 was the car of choice for our wedding. It was roped off in front of the church with the hood open while guests arrived (some of my bride's guests that I didn't even know posed for pictures with the car).
When we left, there was a big burnout right in the church parking lot -- two 15' black marks that lasted nearly a year. I had to lift because the back end wanted to slide around a bit and there were a lot of guests standing around. The we drove off to the reception.
The best part -- our wedding album has two centerfold pictures of the car. One is just us and the Chevelle, the other includes the whole wedding party.
I guess I'm lucky!

Redrum Aug 16th, 05, 11:30 PM Those are some really great pictures and it looks like it was a fun photo shoot too...... :D
Mr69 Aug 16th, 05, 11:59 PM Oh, c'mon now, you can't leave out the gratuitous burnout after they get the car running again !
Nate
Chris R Aug 17th, 05, 1:41 AM Now you've done it. You finally posted a picture of yourself on Team Chevelle. You will never live this one down :D
A broken down Chevelle is an oxymoron. That should have been a Mustang broken down instead, then your Chevelle rolls up to rescue the wedding party.
Nice pics. Looks like you had fun. And I see, in true wife format. That she hasnt been married for more then an hour or 2 and she already showing hubby whos boss in that one pic.
dcarr Aug 17th, 05, 2:14 AM Very nice!!!!! A black 68 Chevelle (well, OK, El Camino) was used in our wedding, too......31+ years ago
I thought I was the only one...
We took my '72 SS-454 El Camino on our honeymoon, driving from the reception to Estes Park, Beaver Creek, Aspen, etc.
Still have the car AND the wife. In fact, since then we've added three times as many Caminos/Sprints to the family as we have kids.

Sorry Nate it was a gravel road and the paint is bad enough without doing a burn out so it did not happen :(

ok so everyone on Team Chevelles knows what I look like wo you guys might as well start picking me apart like you do the Ebay girls.
And honestly it was the bride and groom who decieded what pictures to take - the Chevelle has never left us stranded anywhere (but with theprice of Gas creeping well over a dollar a litre i can see us running out of gas in the near future) lol
Joe Y Aug 17th, 05, 9:04 AM Haha, very cool photo shoot!
ed3196499 Aug 17th, 05, 12:37 PM We are getting married May 6th and we will be using the 64 as the car for the day. I even scoped out and got approval for a big smokey burnout on the street in front of the church.
velleluvr Aug 17th, 05, 11:53 PM Thats cool Ed - We are getting married in Erics moms yard - i dont know if she would appreciate a Burn out but who knows we might get lucky

Did the groom get his idea for that mustache from Ben Stiller's character in Dodgeball? :D

Its your wedding night, somebody better get lucky
Very cool pictures Liz. My father in law has an original 1957 chevy 6 door limo that was originally owned by a country gospel band back in 50's and 60's. That was our wedding limo. And their were about 15 cars following the limo, mine included driven by a friend, that were doing burn outs on every corner between the church and reception. Memories that will last forever.
