What should the metal portions of dash be painted on a '69? It is black, but should it be in lacquer, enamel, other? Gloss, Semi Gloss, Satin, other?

Thanks.

It doesnt really matter if its laquer, enamel, etc. , just as long as it looks correct. It should be a flatter finish on top, kind of a ruff finish. A nice rattle can product to use is SEM 39853 Texture coating, then use a flat black overcoat to smooth it out a bit. The front of the dash is a semi gloss including the glove box.

Are you saying the metal part of dash (facing occupants) on a '69 is "textured" as well? Including the glove box, the ashtray front, etc.? (Not the plastic bezel.)

Thanks

No, only the top is the flat texture style paint, the lower part is semi-gloss nice finish.

I have a red on red 69 chevelle ss. But I'm under the assumption that my plastic dash guage bezel should remain black. Is this correct?

Yes, in 69, they're all black.
