I bought a pair of ss hood inserts and the pins are not threaded, I thought these bolted on with nuts to the pins. The insets snap into place, but they are not the secure. Any suggestions on how to secure the inserts ?

I thought about tapping threading them or maybe some type of exopy to hold them down.

They fasten with nuts that sort of thread themselves,I'm not sure what they are called but most auto parts stores carry them.

I think they're called "Speed Nuts"... They look like they are "stamped" out of sheet metal, and they will cut their own threads...
