Does anyone own or has seen a 72 chevelle with the yellow code 56 color? That is the original color of my 72 SS that we are restoring for my son and we are trying to decide whether to go back original or not.
It is an original 350/2 barrel, manual floor shift (not sure if 3sp or 4sp) with a bench seat. yellow exterior with black interior.

My Malibu has the original paint and is that color yellow.
Not sure how rare it is
As I recall, yellow was one of the most popular colours for '71 (considering all manufacturers); silver was most popular for '72, medium metallic red was 1973's most popular colour. I don't know what that all means today, but I never remember seeing too many Chevelles in that soft yellow offered in 1972. I have seen a '72 SS454 convertible from Forida in a few magazines. Did you want me to send a scan of it?

George, yes I did and thanks! Your car looks awesome. By the way, I just bought a set of 15 X 8 corvette rally's for mine. Is that what I see in the picture? I like the one year only color so cream yellow is the decision!
