1970 Chevelle SS dash.
Can someone please verify that the small lower left hole next to the speedo on a round gauge dash is the brake light ????
Thanks, Nate

Absolutely it is...
A few guys around here have some extras if you put a WTB ad in the classifieds.

Some extra what ? I'm not asking for anything.
What does WTB mean ?

"WTB ad" (want to buy) is used in place of "want ad" to keep from typing one letter, especially handy if your "A" or "N" keys don't work.

I believe Dean was referring to the red brake lens which is always missing if you buy a used gauge cluster.

Nate, that "hole" is supposed to have a red lens across it.
When dashes are removed and clusters taken out, the lens usually falls out or off and is lost. It's about 3/4" in diameter and says "BRAKE".
If your keys work and you want to post an ad for one, that's what I was refering to.
Or, you can try doing the cellophane-across-the-hole trick that some have...

I managed to get the lense out of the sweep speedo and cut it to fit. Glued it in.
Should have the new dash in place by this Sat and then I'll know how I did as far as level or straightness.
Thanks for all the good tips guys.
ps.....sure was a bummer to get all that stuff assembled, only to turn the dash over for a look-see and discovered that big gaping hole. aaaarrrgghh
