Forgive me if I post this here but most of the visitors who read my "Basics" don't know me over on the "general" forums. I just was thinking about on who taught me much of the technical info I pass on to you guys. His name was Steve Vail, a true gentleman who was the head of the Sherwin Williams tech center in Reno NV. I just learned last night that Steve has passed away and I am so shocked I can't say. He was a great guy and I really injoyed his company on my many visits to the tech center, as well as out on lake Tahoe in his boat on the company picnics. He was a stand out guy and the painting industry has lost a teacher who graciously taught all who would listen. I havn't been to the tech center in over two years being I am no longer a rep or painting. But I was lucky enough to spend some time with Steve a few months ago at my work when he came by for an estimate writing clinic. He was the kind of guy you were simply happy to see, he made you feel good. He will be missed by all. Please remember Steve and his family in your prayers.

I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of your teacher and friend. Through life, there are a few key people who influence us more than others. When they leave us, they leave a huge void in our lives and in our hearts. My prayers are with his family.

He lives on through the talents and knowledge he passed to you, and you in return have passed on to others, including me.

Our thoughts are with you for your loss and for his family and his soul.
