after a year of a wonderful divorce & rescuing the SS from my shop at the exes house(to be read used to be mine...lol)I finally got all the nos trim along with screws & clips for installing a vinyl roof on my 68 SS. My question is do the clips have to be placed anywhere specific ? if so does anyone have a pic or diagram. thanks in advance.

My roof is finished so I don't have pics, but if I remember, there are 5 or 6 studs/clips on the side pieces and 7 or 8 studs/clips above the trunk. They should be 5 or 6 inches apart with one on each end, about 1 or 2 inches from the ends..
Put the chrome ends on first b/c they have studs with nuts. Of course you will need to drill holes for these..

Thanks for the info. guy i know that owns interior shop says he can still get the orig material. he said about $300 for vinyl & labor. any pics would still be appreciated.
